All stores, pharmacies to be closed until further notice

COLOMBO (News1st): Acting Inspector General of Police Chandana Wickramaratne has ordered the closure of all supermarkets, stores and pharmacies until further notice. DIG Ajith Rohana, commenting on this decision explained that state-owned Rajya Osu Sala outlets and e-commerce organisations will be allowed to operate in the country. "The programme to provide relief to the people had been misused," DIG Rohana, who is in-charge of the Police Motor Traffic Range said. He urged the public to act in line with the regulations in the country, by pointing out that failing to do so will result in the spread of the coronavirus in the country.
