COLOMBO (News1st): The Anunayake’s of the Asgiri and Malwathu Chapters emphasized on the importance of restricting travelling taking into account the safety and wellbeing of everyone in this critical situation.
The Anunayake’s outlined any careless act can result in the rapid spread of COVID-19 which can cause medical supplies to diminish
“The disease will spread if we continue to engage in trips, conduct public meetings, and meet relatives,” the Anunayake of the Malwathu Chapter Most Ven. Dimbulkumbure Wimaladhamma Thero said.
On the other hand, the Anunayake of the Asgiriya Chapter Ven. Vedaruwe Upali Thero Anunayake highlighted the criticality of excessive usage of medical supplies.
“Doctors will not be able to treat patients. If such an unfortunate situation arises, our country will be affected,” he said.
“We can restore this situation to normalcy if everyone of us fulfills our responsibilities”.
Archbishop of Colombo, His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith said, “I have seen photos of how army officers had given their beds to the quarantine centres and had slept on the floor”.
“They sleep outside under unfavourable conditions because they want to help the people voluntarily and provide a bed for those being quarantined”, he said.
