Pay salaries of public officers on Monday- Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa

COLOMBO (News 1st): Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa on Thursday (19th), instructed Treasury Secretary S. R. Attygalle to pay the salaries of all public officials, including those attached to Corporations, Boards and Departments, on Monday, the 23rd of March.

The Premier has instructed to pay salaries of all government officers, by next Monday as a gesture of gratitude and appreciation of the efforts undertaken by all public officials including the health sector, who are working at their level best to contain the situation. "The Prime Minister has emphasized the government was fully aware of the dedication and commitment of all public officials to carry out the responsibilities and duties, in the fight against COVID-19," Vijayananda Herath, Media Secretary to the Prime Minister said in a statement. The Finance Ministry on Thursday said will take the relevant measures to facilitate the payment of salaries for government officers on the 23rd of March.
