Sri Lankan scientist Prof. D.L. Jayarathne expressed the following views regarding the Coronavirus. What is the coronavirus?
  1. The virus is known as CORONA because of the crown-like shaped proteins that surround the outer surface of the virus.
  2. The virus has proteins known as Glyco Proteins. Using these proteins the virus can access the cells in our respiratory system
What happens to the virus when it exits the host?
  1. The virus cannot access the cells in our respiratory system when it is not attached to the host and exposed to sunlight.
What is happening in China?
  1. A potent enzyme is produced by the virus. These enzymes produce mutated variants known as weak or disabled viruses.
  2. These weak viruses which are released to the environment then enter the bodies of humans and create anti-bodies against the virus.
  3. This is happening in China. That is why the number of cases being reported has reduced.
