The heads of the Sri Lanka Transport Board, National Transport Commission and the Department of Railways were instructed by Minister Mahinda Amaraweera to conduct daily routine inspections on public transport sterilization.
The Minister instructed the respective institutions to ensure facilities are available for the general public to wash their hands at all train stations and bus stands in the country.
The Minister said the program should be further expanded in a bid to prevent the spread of the coronavirus or COVID-19 via public transport.
