No change in the decision to declare tomorrow as a holiday

The government today emphasised that there will be no change in the decision taken to announce tomorrow as a bank and mercantile holiday tomorrow (March 16). The Director-General of the Department of Government Information requested that the essential services be maintained and called on businesses to operate as usual. Speaking to the media in Colombo, Cabinet Spokesman Bandula Gunawardana explained that the purpose of the holiday is to prevent people from gathering in large numbers.
