'Sri Lankans arriving from Europe to be quarantined for 14 days'

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa instructed to suspend the issuance of VISA for Europeans for a period of two weeks during a meeting with the respective authorities to combat COVID-19. In addition, the President had instructed to quarantine for a period of 14 days, all Sri Lankans who arrive from Europe. At the meeting it was also decided to restrict public assembly and events. In addition, the President instructed for the Anti-Corona virus Task Force be set up in an office, and commence to gather information. The World Health Organization had agreed to provide Sri Lanka with necessary research equipment in an effort to combat COVID-19. The President had also instructed to facilitate the purchasing of face-masks at any location at a controlled price. At the meeting, it was revealed that several companies which can produce 150,000 face masks daily were identified. In addition, all buses and trains used for passenger transport would be subject to sterilization with the assistance of the Security Forces.
