Political parties assure no meetings will take place for 02 weeks

The Chairman of the National Elections Commission Mahinda Deshapriya said if the General Election is to take place on the 25th of April, all Sri Lankans should be protected from COVID-19. He requested all citizens to abide by the instructions issued by the health officials and for those who require to be quarantined, to cooperate with authorities. He said certain political parties have assured, they would not conduct any political meeting for a period of two weeks. He stressed, discussions are taking place on this matter with political parties.
