A 44 year old man became the second Sri Lankan to test positive for COVID-19 for the coronavirus.
Director General of Health Services, Dr. Anil Jasinghe said the man in question had shared accommodation in Dambulla with the first Sri Lankan to test positive for the virus, who is currently receiving treatment at the Infectious Diseases Hospital.
He said the second patient was admitted to IDH yesterday and he was tested positive today.
Dr. Jasinghe said both COVID-19 cases are tour guides and were contracted by one particular strand of the virus and not separate strands of the virus.
He said the Ministry of Health and other officials are taking all necessary measures adding the normal way of life of the general public would not be disrupted.
