Ravi Karunanayake's appeal on arrest warrant to be considered tomorrow

Colombo (News 1st) - A writ application filed by 04 suspects in the bond scam including Ravi Karunanayake requesting that the warrants issued on them be suspended, will be taken up for consideration at the Court of Appeal tomorrow. The application was filed by Ravi Karunanayake, Arjun Aloysius, Indika Saman Kumara and Sangarappillai Pathumanapan - who have outstanding warrants against them over the bond scam. Ravi Karunanayake requested the court to examine the petition and to issue an order to quash the arrest warrant issued by the Fort Magistrate's Court on the 06th of March. The petition also sought to revoke the orders issued to the Acting IGP & Director of the Criminal Investigations Department to arrest him. In addition, the petition requests for the B report filed in court over the incident be suspended as well. The petitioners also requested for the case not be taken up in the presence of Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake.
