Nine independent political groups place bonds ahead of election

COLOMBO (News 1st):- The National Elections Commission states that 9 independent groups have placed bonds to contest for the upcoming general election. Commissioner-General of the election, Saman Sri Rathnayake, states that the opportunity has been granted till 12.00 pm of the 19th of March to place bonds. The bond value that should be placed for a contestant in the upcoming general election is Rs. 2000. Meanwhile, the PAFFREL organization states that 6000 local election observers have been deployed to supervise the upcoming election activities. Managing Director of the PAFFREL, Rohana Hettiarachchi states that nearly 40 foreign election observers are also due to come to the country for the purpose.
