Silent protests urging animal welfare bill to be passed

COLOMBO (News 1st):- A silent protest was held today (February 26) at the Viharamahadevi park urging the authorities to pass the Animal Welfare bill. Other than the main objective of passing the animal welfare bill, the protest also aims to gazette the already approved regulations for the welfare of captive elephants and to demand the strict enforcement of existing laws to prevent cruelty to animals.
