Sri Lankan fishermen arrested by Bangladesh to be freed

COLOMBO (News 1st):- State Minister of Fisheries, Sanath Nishantha says that the process of freeing the fishermen who are currently under the custody of Bangaladesh authorities has commenced. He said that the process is carried out through the joint efforts of the Fisheries Ministry, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Bangladesh. The Bangladesh security forces had arrested 27 fishermen and 4 boats in several areas for violating the territorial sea limits of the country.
