Foreign Secretary briefs on decision to withdraw SL from co-sponsorship of UNHRC resolution

COLOMBO (News 1st):- Foreign Secretary Ravinatha Ariyasinha has briefed Human Rights Council Ambassador Elisabeth Tichy-Fisslberger, on the decision taken about withdrawing from Sri Lanka's co-sponsorship of UNHRC resolution. Issuing a release, the Sri Lanka Permanent Mission in Geneva said Minister of Foreign Relations Dinesh Gunawardena leading the delegation, will formally inform the council members on the government's decision when he addresses the high-level segment of the council on Wednesday. Minister Gunawardena is also scheduled to respond to the oral update on Sri Lanka by the High Commissioner Michelle Bachelet on the 27th of February. The release added the High Commissioner and the Ambassadors representing the UK, Germany & Canada of the Core Group were informed of the decision taken by Sri Lanka.
