Colombo (News 1st) – The fire reported at the Ambalanmulla garbage dump in Seeduwa has been doused.

According to the Colombo fire fighting department, the fire was doused after a 34-hour operation. The fire was reported at around 6 pm on Wednesday (Feb 19) and even spread into the Muthurajawela reserve.

The smoke released by the fire forced the closure of the Katunayake – Colombo expressway, however it was reopened for traffic last night. Security officials believe that the fire may have been deliberately started by a group.
