Colombo (News 1st) – Two protests are taking place outside the presidential secretariat.
Railway bamboo gatekeepers staged a protest outside the presidential secretariat today. The organizer of the Sri Lanka Secured Railway Gateway Membership Collective Ashoka Bandara stated that 687 members of the organization only receive a daily allowance of Rs.250. They are demanding that the authorities make their positions permanent.
According to our correspondent representatives of the Railway bamboo gatekeepers have been called into the Presidential Secretariat for a meeting.
Meanwhile, employees of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation who have been protesting outside the Presidential Secretariat office over the past few days once again started a demonstration. They are demanding that the government reinstate them in their respective positions.
