Two dead and two others injured in head-on collission

COLOMBO (News 1st):- In a motor accident reported in the Sandiweli junction in Eravur, Batticaloa, two people died while two others sustained severe injuries. The police said that the accident was the result of a lorry and a three-wheeler colliding with each other at around 9:40 am today (February 16). A 71-year-old individual who was travelling in the three-wheeler and his son died in the accident. The police said that the two other individuals who had sustained injuries in the incident were admitted to the Batticaloa hospital. The head-on collision occurred since the driver of the lorry had fallen asleep. He was arrested by the Eravur police over the incident.
