SMS Alert Service for EPF members

Colombo (News 1st): The Cabinet of Ministers gave the green light to launch a SMS service to immediately inform the monthly deposit contribution by the members of the Employee's Provident Fund. The number of employees permanently holding the membership of the EPF amounts to 2.6 Million at present and with the existing methodology, the members are forced to wait for 06 to 12 months to know if their contribution was deposited to the fund. Following the implementation of the new system, the EFP member would be immediately notified to the mobile number nominated by him or her, about the monthly contribution to the fund.
