Experienced Police constables to recieve promotions under new program

Colombo (News 1st) - Police constables who have not received any promotions over the past 10 years are set to receive promotions according to Minister Bandula Gunawardene. Addressing today's (Feb 13) Cabinet media briefing, Minister Gunawardene noted that there are many Police constables who have not received any promotions over an extended period of time. Minister Gunawardene noted that officers who have served for over 10 years in the rank of Police constable would be promoted to the ranks of Sergeant and Inspector of Police. Cabinet approval has been granted for the joint project that is being executed by the National Police Commission together with the National Salaries and Cadre Commission and the Ministry of Finance.
