Protests opposite Presidential Secretariat continue

Colombo (News 1st): Several protests were held opposite the Presidential Secretariat today (Feb 12). The Sri Lanka Independent Health Workers Union staged a protest opposite the Health Ministry. The protest was staged demanding authorities make the employment of health assistants permanent. Our correspondent said there are about 1600 health assistants employed. The protesters claim that they will continue the protest until a solution is provided. Meanwhile, a group from the Provincial Hospital of Jaffna took part in a protest opposite the Presidential Secretariat. They request the authorities to make them permanent staff in their respective job roles. Furthermore, a group of people who passed the Principal examination staged a protest opposite the Presidential secretariat demanding for job opportunities and promotions.
