Sand transportation licenses to be issued

Colombo (News 1st) - The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau notes that a new license will be introduced for trucks transporting sand. The bureau notes that this decision was reached as they have received numerous complaints of illegal sand mining, after the cancellation of sand transport permits. Chairman of the bureau, Anura Walpola noted that in accordance with the new system the licensee who receives permission to mine the sand will also receive the permits to transport it.
