New STF commadant to be named today

Colombo (News 1st) - The National Police Commission states that a suitable candidate, to replace Senior DIG M.R. Latheef as Commandant of the Police Special Task Force will be named today. An officer at the commission noted that DIG Lionel Gunathilaka is currently serving as the Acting Commandant of the STF. The Commission has recommended two names to the acting IGP for the position of Commandant they are DIG Lionel Gunathilaka and DIG Waruna Jayasundara. Senior DIG M.R. Latheef retired from the Police force yesterday after serving the country for 41 years.
