COLOMBO (News 1st):- State Minister Kanchana Wijeyasekera made a revelation about a cinnamon smuggling racket in the Matara district today (February 2).

The State Minister said;

“We must issue a warning. There is a mafia operating in the cinnamon cultivation industry. The main people involved in this mafia are in the Matara District. We have identified them. This is a large scale mafia carried out by one family. We have found the details of this. They are also being supported by a politician. As the ministry of plantation we are ready to take some stern decisions against this, even if it is a member of our government who is helping them.”
