Colombo (News 1st) – A total of 7 patients at the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Angoda are currently being tested for the Coronavirus according to Chief Epidemiologist at the Ministry of Health Dr. Sudath Samaraweera. This is in addition to the Chinese national who was confirmed to be the first Coronavirus patient in Sri Lanka.
Director of the Medical Research Institute, Jayaruwan Bandara noted that they have currently received two samples to be examined for Coronavirus. The test results on the two samples are due to be released today according to Bandara.
Meanwhile, the Department of Immigration and Emigration has stopped issuing visas for Chinese nationals from three major cities. In addition, Chinese nationals living in a further 53 cities have been informed to apply for visa prior to their arrival.
