Special traffic plan in line with Independence day celebrations

COLOMBO (News 1st):- Police stated that a special traffic plan will be in place surrounding the Colombo Independence Square from today (January 26) onwards due to the 72nd National independence day celebration rehearsals. Accordingly, the special traffic plan will be in operation today, the 31st as well as on the 02nd and 3rd of next month. Police said during these days the traffic plan will be in effect from 6:00 am to 1:00 pm. According to the traffic plan, the entry from Glass House Junction towards Nanda Motors, from the Library Junction towards Glass House and entry to the Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha, has been suspended. Additionally, the entrance to F.R. Senanayake Mawatha from Dharmapala Mawatha, the entrance to C.W.W.Kannangara Mawatha from the de Soyza roundabout and the entrance to C.W.W.Kannangara Mawatha through Rosmead Place from Wijerama Mawatha will be suspended. The entrance to Maitland Place and Premakeerthi de Alwis Mawatha from Baudhaloka Mawatha and the entrance to Padanam Mawatha through Stanley Wijesundara Mawatha has also been suspended during the rehearsal period.
