"President was handed over a country without a budget" : Ven. Muruththetuwe Ananda Thero

COLOMBO (News 1st):- An alms giving was organized today (January 26) to mark the birthday of Chief Incumbent of the Abayaramaya Viharaya Most Ven. Muruththetuwe Ananda Thero. The event was held at the Abayaramaya temple. The event was attended by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, Minister Chamal Rajapaksa, and several other politicians. 112 Theros including the Mahanayaka Thero of the Sri Lanka Amarapura sect, Most Venerable Kotugoda Dhammawasa Thero and Professor Ven. Kotapitiye Rahula Thero were also present on the occasion. Speaking at the event, the Chief Incumbent of the Abayaramaya Temple, Ven. Muruththetuwe Ananda Thero said that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa was handed over a country without even a budget and that they should be given time to perform. However, he also added that if they don't deliver and go down the same way the UNP government did that they will not hesitate to attack them as well, just like they had done previously. After the event, the President presented dry rations to a group of pregnant mothers.
