Maha season harvest to be purchased from tomorrow

Colombo (News 1st) - The Paddy Marketing Board notes that they will begin purchasing the harvests of the Maha Season from tomorrow (Jan 27). Chairman of the board, Dr. J.D. Mannaperuma noted that they have already set up purchasing centres in Ampara, Batticaloa and other districts in the Northern province where the harvest is being reaped. He added that the funds required to purchase the paddy will be released by the treasury.
