Police sergeant arrested for soliciting a bribe

Colombo (News 1st): The Sergeant responsible for Judicial duties at the Palmadulla Police station was arrested while attempting to solicit a bribe of Rs. 50,000. The arrest was carried out by the officials of the Bribery Commission. The Sergeant was supplying photocopies of documents pertaining to an ongoing case in return for a sum of Rs 50,000. Further investigations are underway.
