4/21 attacks: Attorney General denies representing former President and Prime Minister

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The 07 judge bench of the Supreme Court led by Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya commenced the examination of 12 petitions filed over the 04/21 attacks. Farzana Jameel, Deputy Solicitor General appearing for the Attorney General informed the court that the Attorney General would not appear for former President Maithripala Sirisena and former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. A plethora of officers including former President Maithripala Sirisena, former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando and IGP Pujith Jayasundara who was sent on compulsory leave were named as respondents in these petitions.
