COLOMBO (News 1st):- The National Transport Commission states that the CDs containing songs appropriate to be played in private buses are now been provided at a number of locations. Director-General of the Commission, Commander Dilann Merenda says that the CD's could be obtained at Vavuniya, Bastian Mawatha, and the Makumbura bus stops. In addition, the songs could also be downloaded from ww.ntc.gov.lk. The Commission also states that strict legal action will be taken against all private bus drivers and conductors who do not take necessary measures to play the permitted CDs after the 15th of January. As a measure to stop the loud music being played in buses, the NTC introduced 9 different CDs with over 1000 songs. As of now, although some buses play these songs, passengers still complain that most of the buses still play loud music.
