COLOMBO (News 1st) – Three female Sri Lankan students who had been studying in Azerbaijan have died in a fire that took place in an apartment complex. The students aged 21, 23 and 25 were studying at the Western Caspian University in Baku.

According to the foreign sources, the fire occurred due to an electrical leak and the Azerbaijan Police and the Fire Brigade are continuing investigations into the matter.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that further investigations into the matter will be carried out through the Sri Lankan Embassy based in Tehran.
