Positioning of teachers islandwide to be reviewed

COLOMBO (News 1st):- The Ministry of Education has decided to conduct a review on the positioning of teachers islandwide. Secretary of the Ministry, M. H. M. Chithrananda says that this task will be carried out by the Teacher's Service Committee. This decision has been taken following a number of shortcomings in positioning teachers reported from various parts of the country. He further says that due to this, certain schools have a surplus while some other schools have a shortage of teachers. The secretary says that this review will enable them to understand which subjects would require more teachers. The task will be conducted together with the Provincial Councils.
