COLOMBO (News 1st) – President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has requested the European Union to look at Sri Lanka positively. The presidential media unit stated that the president made this request when he met diplomats representing the EU today.
The President met with the Ambassadors of France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Romania, and the EU, at the Presidential Secretariat.
Explaining Sri Lanka’s non-aligned foreign policy, President Rajapaksa had highlighted powerful countries should support smaller nations such as Sri Lanka to achieve regional empowerment.
The Ambassadors had welcomed the President’s steps taken towards eradicating corruption, ensuring transparency, and prioritizing meritocracy, the President’s office noted.
