Gayantha Karunathilake appointed as the Chief Opposition Whip

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The UNP parliamentary group unanimously agreed to appoint Parliamentarian Gayantha Karunathilake as the chief opposition whip. Parliamentarian Sajith Premadasa proposed Gayantha Karunthilake's name to the position. Also, it has been decided to appoint J. C. Alawathuwala, Ajith P. Perera and Ranjith Aluvihare as deputy opposition whips, while parliamentarians Prof. Ashu Marasinghe, Sidney Jayaratne and Hector Appuhamy were appointed as the assistant whips.
