Gazette notification issued on maximum retail price for cement

Colombo (News 1st): A special gazette notification has been issued declaring the maximum retail price of cement. Accordingly, the maximum retail price of locally manufactured 50kg of cement is Rs. 1,005.  The maximum retail price of a bag of cement that has been imported as cement dust will be Rs. 950 and the maximum retail price of a bag of imported cement is Rs. 930. Chairman of the Consumer Affairs Authority, retired Major General D.M.S. Dissanayaka issued the gazette notification stating not to sell or exhibit cement exceeding the maximum retail price.
