181,126 Candidates qualified to enter University

Colombo (News 1st): Commissioner General of Examinations Sanath Pujitha says 181,126 candidates have qualified for university education. He added that the results of 71 students have been suspended. According to the examination results of the new and old syllabus, those who obtained the first place in the island have been announced.
  • Tharusha Sihan Fonseka of Ananda College, Colombo is the first in the island in the new curriculum for Physics.
  • Sachini Wijewardena of Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo was placed first in the island under the new Biology syllabus.
  • Vinura Oshada Gallage of the Bandaranaike Vidyalaya, Gampaha was placed first in the engineering technology stream.
  • Tishani Nimsara Hettige of Bishop's College, Colombo is the first in the island in the new syllabus for  the commerce stream
  • Teshani Weligamage of Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Colombo was placed first in the Arts stream under the new syllabus.
  • D.M. Nisansala Sanjeewani of Medigama National School in Bibila emerged first in the Technology stream under the new curriculum.
  • Nipuna Viraj of Bandaranaike Vidyalaya, Gampaha has become the first in the island in the old curriculum of the Arts stream.
  • Darshana Isurusiri of Pinnawala Central College was placed first in the island in the mathematics stream under the old syllabus.
  • J.Niroshan Sandharuwan from Christ Church College in Baddegama was placed first in the commerce stream under the old syllabus.
