Politicians need to detach themselves from the religious figures-Lalith Gunewardena

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Surakimu Sri Lanka Organization convened a media briefing in Ragama today (December 26). Lalith Gunewardena, President of the Surakimu Sri Lanka People's Movement noted that it was apparent for everyone that a number of religious figures participating in the political arena in the recent past. He added that the country has responsible leaders and authorities and they requested them to detach themselves from these religious figures. In addition, he requested all politicians to not allow Buddhist monks to get involved in politics and to refrain from giving them nominations.
