578 suspects arrested in province wide operation

Colombo (News 1st) - The Police has taken into custody a total of 578 persons following a special anti-corruption operation launched across the 111 police divisions in the Western Province. The operation was launched under the orders of Senior DIG in charge of the Western province Deshabandu Tennakoon. According to the police among the arrested suspects are individuals who were in possession of Ganja, Heroin, other narcotics, illicit liquor as well as individuals suspected to be linked to racketeering. The suspects that were arrested during the operation are due to produce before the relevant courts.
