Spill gates of several reservoirs still open : DMC

Colombo (News 1st): The Disaster Management Center states the spill gates of several reservoirs are still open as a result of continuous heavy rainfall. Assistant DMC Director Pradeep Kodippili said the spill gates of the Udawalawe and Lunugamvehera reservoirs have been opened. With the rains, the lowlands of the Sella Kataragama area have been inundated. The Department of Meteorology states heavy showers about 150mm are expected in most parts of the country. Other parts of the island will experience heavy rainfall of up to 75mm.
