COLOMBO (News 1st) - Minister Mahinda Amaraweera has ordered the General Manager of the Petroleum Corporation to submit a report regarding the payment of overtime payments worth Rs 150mn to the employees of the corporation, last month. It has been reported that the overtime was paid against a backdrop where employees were abundant in numbers and when they were not assigned any tasks. The Ministry for Power and Energy noted that despite the adequate number of employees in the corporation, inefficient management has led to serious losses. The Minister ordered General Manager to submit the relevant report tomorrow to gather the truth behind the payment.
