COLOMBO (News 1st) – Road Development Authority states one of two lanes of the Kandy-Colombo Road at the Kelani bridge was temporarily closed from 6:00 am today due to construction work.

Ministry of Highways, Ports and Shipping released a statement declaring that a rehearsal of the traffic plan will commence today (December 17).

The statement further states that following the rehearsal, one of the lanes near the Kelani bridge to enter Colombo will be closed from the 19th to the 21st of next month.

As a traffic relief, only light vehicles and buses will be released through the Katunayake-Colombo-Peliyagoda interchange from the 17th of this month.

The RDA states, the Colombo Negombo road could be used as an alternative route for containers trucks and lorries.

The RDA advises motorists to use alternative routes to reduce traffic.
