Colombo (News 1st): In a media release, the Sri Lanka Army stated that 04 Brigadiers have been promoted to the rank of Major General, 25 Colonels promoted as Brigadiers and 34 Majors have been promoted to the post Lieutenant Colonel.

Accordingly, a total of 64 senior officers have been promoted to their respective next ranks. Further according to the communique, this is one of the largest segments of promotions made in recent times.
