COLOMBO (News 1st) - Parliamentarian Manusha Nanayakkara expressed views about the UNP leadership during a media briefing in Galle today (December 15). Manusha Nanayakkara noted that a committee was appointed to take a decision regarding the party leadership and the committee dictated that Ranil Wickremesinghe will remain as the party leader till the end of the general election. He added that they expect the Working Committee to convene and take a decision regarding this matter.  He went on to note that the party supporters request them to embark on a new journey. According to him, those who claim they have deals with the government are attempting to cover their own wrongdoings and remain in the older way of things. He added that Sajith Premadasa was given the candidacy because of his experience and the world is changing. He further added that some prime ministers in some countries are 34 years old and if someone claims that a person should be 75 years of age to be a party leader, its a lie.
