Colombo (News 1st) – The Swiss Embassy employee who was allegedly abducted and detained has been summoned before the CID for a 5th consecutive day. Our correspondent noted that she arrived at the CID at around 11.10 am today, however, even by 6 pm, the CID was still recording her statement.
Yesterday, Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne extended the travel ban imposed on the embassy employee till the 17th of this month. Counsel appearing on behalf of the victim requested Court to grant permission to carry out further interrogations at the residence of the ambassador, taking into account the current health condition of the victim. However, the move was opposed by the Attorney General’s department and the Court rejected the request.
