A common party symbol for general election : Wimal Weerawansa

COLOMBO(News 1st) - Several political figures shared their thoughts regarding the issue, whether the ruling party will contest the general election under the symbol of the Flower Bud or under a different symbol. Journalist: Minister Dilum Amunugama said they will be running for the elections under Pohottuwa? Minister Wimal Weerawansa noted that it will be as discussed before the presidential election. He added that during the presidential election they would represent their candidate under the flower bud and to use a common symbol for the general election and they intend to stick to that. UPFA MP Dr Sarath Amunugama: "Sri Lanka Freedom Party has signed an agreement, so anything should happen according to the agreement. We were a team before. This is not the correct time to implement any more agreements seeking posts. Anything should be done for the benefit of the party members. We could stay as two parties. Yet we need to work towards one goal." SLFP Dayasiri Jayasekara noted that they hope to work together.
