Extreme Weather affects over 5000 persons

Colombo (News 1st) - The extreme weather that has been affecting the island has so far affected over 5000 people. The Disaster Management centre notes that 5,415 persons belonging to 1480 families have been affected by the recent spate of inclement weather. Asst. Director of the Disaster Management Center, Pradeep Koddipili notes that 619 persons belonging to 150 families have been displaced. He added that the DMC has provided the displaced persons with temporary housing at 8 locations.
