13 Sri Lankan fishermen arrested in Maldives

Colombo (News 1st) - 13 Sri Lankan fishermen have been arrested by Maldivian authorities according to the Department of Fisheries. Asst. Director of the Department's search operations unit, Padmapriya Thissera notes that they have begun discussions with the Government of Maldives to free the fishermen. The arrested persons had set off to sea onboard the "Chalana 3" and "Roy" vessels.
