COLOMBO(News 1st) - The human remains of several members of the Sri Lankan indigenous community returned to the island after 200 years yesterday(November 26). The University of Edinburgh handed over the human remains which had been in their possession since colonization. The University of Sri Jayawardenapura had conducted a research on these remains and the indigenous people of Sri Lanka. These remains were returned to Sri Lanka based on a request by the indigenous leader, Uruwarige Wannilaththo and therefore the remains; 7 human skulls and 2 skeletons were repatriated last night.
