16 police personnel transferred - NPC

COLOMBO (News 1st):- A Senior DIG, eight DIGs, two senior police superintendents, and five assistant police superintendents have been given service transfers. The transfers have been made with the approval of the National Police Commission and the agreement of the National Elections Commission. Thereby, Senior DIG S. M. Wickramasinghe has been transferred to the Eastern province in addition to the Central and Uva provinces. Among the DIGs who were transferred, are L. S. Pathinayake, W. M. M. Wickramasinghe, R. M. N. G. O. Perera, E. M. U. V. Gunarathne, K. N. J. Wedasinghe, D. J. Palihakkara, L. K. J. G. S. Peiris and L. P. S. P. Sandungahawaththa. Meanwhile, senior police superintendents G. S. Abeysekara and W. Thilakarathna were also given service transfers. Assistant police superintendents, R. A. R. N. Rajapaksa, D. S. K. Pushpakumara, P. T. Sisira, W. V. D. G. Samanthilaka, W, P. V. Perera have also been transferred.
