COLOMBO(News 1st) – Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa assumed duties as the newly appointed Prime Minister at the Prime Minister’s office a few minutes ago.

He was sworn-in as the new Prime Minister before President Gotabaya Rajapaksa earlier today (November 21).

The occasion was graced by former President Maithripala Sirisena and former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe as well.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa handed over the letter of appointment to Gamini Senerath as the Prime Minister’s secretary.
